Hello, just wanted to post an update - I ended up having a fibroscan at the BLT roadshow and the result was 4.7kPa, IQR 3.3, which was a huge relief.
I've just had some more bloods done though and my ALT and GGT have risen significantly, from ALT 23, GGT 16 to ALT 35 and GGT 27, even though I have now been t-total for 8 months. I have raised lymphocytes (4.5) and seem to have tested positive for something called anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide.
My symptoms include a possible episode of jaundice in Feb, significant hair loss, psoriasis rashes on scalp and body, joint pain especially in hips and knees, coated tongue & dry throat, and some kind of urinary issue which is not showing up as a UTI on tests.
I will be talking to my GP on Monday, but my questions in the meantime are:
- Some people have said they ended up being diagnosed with fibrosis or even cirrhosis with fibroscan scores of less than 7kPa - is this rare?
- My symptoms are possibly pointing to an autoimmune issue so I think I need to be tested for auto-immune hepatitis. What blood tests should I request - is it anti-nuclear antibodies, anti-smooth muscle antibodies and IgG?
- I am overweight- I think my BMI is about 27. Could some/any of my issues be caused by Nafld/NASH? I don't know my CAP score as the fibroscan was done with a portable probe.
Sorry for the essay and thanks in advance for any replies!
