Jaundice
When you have jaundice you will get discoloration in the eyes.
Noticeable jaundice starts in different places for different people, although generally on the top half of the body. It's not true to say it always starts in the eyes. Indeed tongue and gums are equally common early indicators. Jaundice can be sudden or develop gradually. It can be extreme or slight. (apart from when you're seriously decompensated then there is no doubt as it's remarkably obvious)
The point is if you have concerns only a Dr can give you feedback. They can also test your bilirubin etc.
People saying it only happens in a certain way could send you in the wrong diagnostic direction.
