Just had some results back from first fibroscan and other results. Don't understand them and had no explanation from hospital. Can anyone enlighten me? UKELD 49, CHILD PUGH A6. fibroscan LSM20.2 , IQR1.2 WITH platelets 150. I know that no one is able to give medical advice, just need to know where I am.

UKELD is the United Kingdom Model for End Stage Liver Disease which is a calculation based on various blood results Creatine, Bilirubin, Sodium and INR. 49 is usually the minimum level for UK transplant listing.

CHILD PUGH is also calculated using blood results for Bilirubin, Albumin and also INR, blood clotting time, presence of HE (or not), presence of ascites (or not).

Child Pugh A with a score of 6 is at the lower end of things - the most severe end is Child Pugh C with scores of 10-15.

Your Fibroscan score - (IQR is the interquartile range and part of the calculation method for fibroscan score - the IQR measurement isn't relevant to you). It's usually reported with a kPa number - I guess your LSM is liver stiffness measurement and at 20.2 it confirms known cirrhosis.

Platelet count of 150 - looks to be about lower end of normal.

Thank you Katie, nothing overly sinister that I didn't already know! Appreciate your response. X
