Should I continue B12 injections every 12 weeks

Hi I am being investigated for cirrhosis of the liver. An ultrasound result was cirrhosis.

I am waiting for a CT scan and colonoscopy.I am currently having B12 injections every 6weeks.My question is should I continue with this regime as I understand B12 is stored in the liver.

I just don’t know what to do.

Thank you

Sorry to hear about your scan results. What to do--talk to a hepatologist and follow their advice. There are no liver docs here.

I’d do what the medics say. You might find your low on it and it’s an important vitamin. I didn’t realise how much we need it.

Usually with medications you continue unless your doctor tells you otherwise. As B12 is stored in the liver you are more likely to be low on it than high and probably need them. I would give your GP or consultants secretary a ring to ask if you aren't sure. I'm sorry about your results, but lots can be done these days.

Hi Chocolate,

I'm afraid only your medical team can give advice on that question.

Thank you everyone for your comments.Yes I understand what you are all saying.🙏x

Hi,

Whilst we appreciate how worried you are, no one is medically qualified to give advice on your B12 injections.

Please only speak to your doctors for safe and accurate guidance.

Very best wishes.
