Liver ache and pain progression?

Hi, After help and reassurance I guess. Been a heavy drinker in past. Stopped after some pains a few months ago but had a worsening back pain along rib line which over last few weeks has developed into a side pain. I can find a position to sit in or standing still be pain free but moving or bending over causes a twinge or pains. My ache in back and side can come and go.

Had a clear ultrasound but seeing gp re pains and getting blood liver tests done. No other symptoms, apart from my wee is looking more bight yellow possibly this past week.

Just wondered if other experienced anything similar as I feel discomfort / pain is getting slightly worse overtime not better. Had hoped no alcohol would see pain go, or reduce. Not sure if a worsening ache is a bad sign or if it’s just a case of more time plenty of exercise and no alcohol ever again.

Hoping I can turn things around but wondered how others found their pain developed , how long it lasted before easing or going and if bending or moving aggravated it. Picking up lawn cuttings for example causes some twinges.

I’m sure everyone is different but there must also be some commonality. Must say so far pain is not disturbing my sleep or preventing me doing anything but just aware it’s there and causing discomfort.

Would really appreciate any comments or experiences others have had. Many thx.

Ox

Forgot to add , this past week also getting a slight feeling of nausea or upset tummy. Not sick or severe but unusual for me. Perhaps related symptom.

Hi and welcome,

We are sorry to read that you are in pain and feeling nauseous.

We would suggest to report your symptoms to your own doctor so they can assess matters and try to investigate the origin of your pain.

Good luck.
