Hi All. First time on - my mum has recently been diagnosed with adenocarcinoma. She's struggling a fair bit and the oncologist has just said due to how weak she is he doesn't recommend treatment. However will proceed if she wants. I'm looking for advice if any to help build her up. She is not ready to give up just yet but we need any help in whats good for her and not. She has just had it fluids to build her back up but the ascites and sickness is really taking its toll. Any help is really appreciated.

Thank you

Chris

Hello and welcome to the forum.

I am sorry to hear your mum is so unwell.

I wonder if there is a symptom management plan for your mum with regards to her jaundice and her nausea.

I wonder if the GP or hepatology/oncology teams can help with her symptom control?

Perhaps support from a dietitian may also be useful.

You can also call our nurse led helpline on 0800 652 7330 Mon-Fri 10am-3pm should you wish to talk things through .
