Hi everyone
28 year old male, had a very heavy drinking period for two years back in 2013 & 2014.
Since then, I’ve been a “weekend warrior”, drinking heavily only on the weekends. This is usually about 30 units.
Anyway, I’m worried I have some form of liver disease. My cholesterol is quite low and there’s no explanation for it - my diet isn’t “heart healthy”.
In 2010 at the age of 17, my total cholesterol was 3mmol. In 2012, this jumped to 4.6.
In the years after the heavy drinking period, in early 2015 my cholesterol was 3.6, going as low as 2.6mmol and the last three readings have been 4mmol, 3.8mmol and 3.8mmol.
All my other bloods are normal and an abdominal ultrasound was normal with no signs of fatty liver etc.
So my GP is refusing to do anything else, but I just can’t understand my cholesterol.
IM NOT asking for a diagnosis, but was hoping for some speculation as to whether there seems to be any cause worth pursuing here? I’m sort of thinking that if this was a sign of cirrhosis - surely after 7 years and continued alcohol drinking, there’s be more signs now?if anything my cholesterol seems to be going up
Thanks for your help
