Compensated..

My consultant just phoned to say my liver is compensated and as long as I stay off the booze there is no reason why it should deteriorate any further.(13 months). He said they might do a Fibroscan is the very distance future, but that would be just for academic purposes. So not sure what that means. So I don’t know how much scarring I have,he’s obviously not concerned so I’ll just carry on doing what I’m doing.

This is all good news Dean, the only thing to really look out for is possible tumours forming on the liver.

These are normally benign, but it's always best to identify them early. To this end, a person should normally have a CT or ultrasound every six months or so just to make sure. I would double check with your consultant if this will be the case in the near future. Sometimes a gastroenterologist may over look this.

Good luck

Richard.

Thank you. Yes I will be monitored every six months. I wonder why their not interested in how much scarring I have?

Were you diagnosed for PH? If so, how, varicies? I have HE and somewhat elevated ammonia, which should be an indicator for PH as far as I know, but no treatment yet. Only for HE.

I was diagnosed with PH.They found one small grade one varcie last year. HE has never been mentioned.

Great to have good news to start the day. you obviously came through a lot of bad nights, fears and obstacles to be where you are now Dean, so whatever you put in place to get you to compensated, stay loyal to those ways...every time i see the doc she hammers that into me. Well done!!!

I was compensated. But during routine US scan a 2.8 cm was discovered. Went through TACE twice. Last CT looked clean but the procedure was not 100%. Now I am dealing with PVT.

What did they find? What pvt?
