Liver tests ok, still unwell. Anxious about cirrhosis being missed.

Liver tests good except low phosphate. Day 6 alcohol free, still nauseous and unwell. Wondering I’d I can have cirrhosis and still good liver results?

Wondering the same thing. Alcohol free now. But upper right quadrant is tender. Little bit of nausea. 2 normal liver function tests and 2 normal ultrasounds. Paranoid it could be getting missed

It’s a horrible feeling isn’t it. I guess the thing is do I want to know anyway. I’m never drinking again.

I stopped drinking end of December as I felt terrible doctor did bloods and lft and all ok except low phosphate. At the time they said that could be due to body fighting a previous infection. Since then I did 8 week alcohol free. But have slipped. No excuse. Although I have cared for my dad who is now end of life and frankly with anxiety I feel I am losing the plot. No other symptoms apart from tiredness and I know that could be because I am drinking again. Albeit sticking to the government limits. I am trying again.

If you’re worried, you should have your doctor send you to get a fibroscan. Blood tests can look normal, even with advanced liver disease , but considering that everything looks fine so far, I wouldn’t worry too much. If you’re experiencing symptoms, a fibroscan should put your mind at ease within minutes, literally.

Yes. I have cirrhosis. At times the blood results are normal. Scan shows cirrhosis. I have been asking this question to my consultant for years. But I never really understand the answer 😕
