My husband had his first outpatient appointment after being discharged almost 5 weeks ago. The clinical team feel he needs a transplant sooner rather than later. His UKELD score is 60.
Mixed emotions with part of me being terrified but part thinking this could be the answer to our prayers and the way for him to live a near normal life again.
He currently has poor muscle mass, although this has improved since discharge. Some tweaks to his diet and protein supplements and a requirement to do more physically over the next month, after which we see the consultant again and we look at the transplant assessment.
Has anybody got any suggestions as to what we should be doing to optimise his nutrition and wellbeing pre assessment?
