Hi I was just wondering if someone could help me. I have just weighed myself and I have lost 3LB in a week is that good. If anyone could give me some advice It would be appreciated. Thanks Mary

Whether it is a good thing or not depends on what sort of weight you are carrying. If you are already underweight and loosing more then no not good since we've previously discussed it could mean you are loosing muscle mass and becoming malnourished. If you were overweight then a healthy weight loss wouldn't be too bad a thing BUT you don't want it falling off rapidly.

How are you eating now? Little and often - protein and carbs to make sure you are fueling properly as per the information I previously sent you by PM.

Almost all your posts are about weight loss and what your allowed to eat, also you write about waiting to see a diatician.A recap of your posts says you have compensated cirrhosis caused by alcohol and you have removed the cause.

With average luck that is enough to stop it getting any worse.

Drinking added calories to your daily intake so it's not unusual to lose weight when you quit but if unwanted weight loss continues you have to increase what you eat.

A diatician will just say eat healthy foods, no magic menu as far as cirrhosis is concerned!

My Dr said I can eat anything in moderation and if I fancied a donut then have one.

I NEED to lose weight though.

My aim is to eat as healthy as possible with a varied diet and the occasional treat.

2000 to 2500 calories a day should keep you at a stable weight if your already a normal weight.

Hi Roy1955 I have been told that I am over weight I should be between 9half stone and 10 at the moment I am 11 stone 8 but I don't eat much and don't exercise at all because I have sciatica in my back so I don't know what to do for best I have breakfast and a meal in the evening and sometimes have snack during the day but that is it to be honest with you. Thanks Mary x
