Crying again. Have to wait nearly 4 months for an appointment at hospital to even see a specialist. My family say it can’t be that had then otherwise they would see you straight away. Yes I get that but it doesn’t stop the constant pain and worry.

Whilst I somewhat understand it is frustrating not to have a full sit down appointment with a specialist yet to discuss your diagnosis there is no point getting yourself too worked up about it. You've been told that you have fatty liver and a doctor won't be able to do anything more about that as there is no specific treatment for it - the cure for fatty liver is the lifestyle changes which you are already making.
Eating well, exercising more, total abstinence and shifting any excess weight are the treatment that a doctor will advise so in the 4 months before you have that appointment really work on the changes you can make - we've had really positive stories on here of late with people turning round seriously fatty livers to being discharged from specialist because they've done the hard work.
Keep up the good work with lifestyle changes and hopefully you'll have this thing on the mend before your appointment in 4 months time (you are fortunate it is so quick in reality many people wait way longer).
Now I feel like I shouldn’t be going. It’s just that when I spoke to the helpline when they first said that my liver was enlarged the nurse said that the dr had a duty to send me to specialist to find out what the fatty and enlarged liver was being caused by and if there was any damage to the liver already.
Don’t want to waste specialists time.
As I’m sure there are other people who need to be seen.
I've not suggested you don't need to be seen or that you are not entitled to a specialist appointment. Of course you want to get to the bottom of your condition but in the interim you can continue to do your best to improve things by yourself & you've already made great strides with that so keep up the good work.
