Hi jazzgirl80
That sounds like a sensible plan To me.
Hi. In my personal experience of prednisolone its recommended to take them as one dose usually in the morning. You should read the information leaflet that comes with them or contact your doctor if unsure... I've taken as many as 8 at one time in the past. Best wishes, K
Hello jazzgirl80,
I would strongly suggest you discuss this with the doctor who prescribed them, or if this proves difficult - perhaps you could discuss with the dispensing pharmacist today.

Hi jazzgirl. Could you just clarify ... you have written prednisone and prednisolone. Which one are you actually taking? They are different as they are used for different reasons.I am sure your doc or chemist can help you with your queerie.
Laura
Both work the same Laura. Prednisone actually gets converted to prednisolone in your system - I don't understand the science of it but it comes up for discussion a lot on AIH Facebook page when people have their prescriptions substituted. In the USA they don't have prednisolone (I believe) and all AIH patients usually get Prednisone instead.

Ah thanks Katie 👍

Did it help you
I have always taken pred in one dose with breakfast. Other conditions may require regular doses of steroids theought the day but they use a different steroid. I have been on oral doses as high as 12 tablets a day and always one dose
No, you need to take them all at once. In the morning is best or sleep becomes tricky. You may be able to take less over time as your blood levels even out.
