Hi, I had a fibroscan a few weeks ago which recorded a score of 23.6 much to the surprise of my GP and the nurse doing the scan. She decided to refer me for an ultrasound which I had today - which showed a totally normal liver. .. not fatty, normal size and smooth. I probably won't see the consultant for another few months. Any ideas? Has anyone had similar? My bloods are pretty normal except a slightly elevated bilirubin (29). I was referred after thyroid problems and elevated liver enzymes (ALT and bilirubin) - AST etc normal. Thanks

I would suggest you seek further clarification from your own doctors.
It is possible to have a falsely elevated fibroscan , so perhaps seeking another form of fibrosis monitoring ( ELF or Fib -4 test) may help to clarify.
