Hi Does anyone else have large red blood cells? should I be worried?

Also since beginning of Jan '21 I have been having pins and needles in my feet the tops of my legs feel very heavy and really bad back pain. It's affecting my mobility alot and seems to be getting worse as time goes on. Does anyone have any ideas what is happening - just to add I'm only 40.

Good morning. It is really important that you tell your GP or phone 111 as soon as possible about the back pain and your pins and needles - they are likely to be related. You may need a scan. The fact that you have altered sensation in your legs associated with backpain is something which really needs to be assessed by a doctor as soon as possible .

Large red blood cells are commonly associated with liver disease. The pathology of this is complex. Your Gp or hospital doctor will be able to explain the significance.

Take care, regards

ok, thanks. I must admit I've put it off speaking to my GP as I've been hoping it will sort it's self out. I am due an appointment with my liver consultant soon so I'll ask him.

Thanks again

Please ask your GP for a bilirubin count as in my wife's experience the two were related in retrospect but not by the GP at the time. Good luck.
