Is it normal for pain after fibroscan?

I went for a fibroscan today, the chap doing it said that this is a painless scan. I however found it extremely sore and every time it pulsed it hurt more and more. He also asked me if I’d eaten within two hours and seemed extremely surprised when I said no. Am I just being paranoid or has anyone else experienced this?

Hi, my hep nurse warned me before my scan that some people feel nothing, where as others nearly jump off the bed! she couldn't give a reason as to why this is, for me it feels like someone is flicking my ribs with their fingers, other times I feel nothing. So yes, it can be a normal thing for some x

Hi, thank you for your reassurance. I’m still in pain from this now two days later but the good news is my results have came back and they are a lot better than I expected. Onwards and upwards 😊
