Is it a pulled muscle?

CaribbeanqueenbeeKim profile image

I am concerned about my pain in my upper right abdomen under my breast.

My girlfriend stretched me 3 days ago after our workout , and it started hurting yesterday. It only hurts when I yawn or take a deep breathe. It feels like its bruised. Is it a pulled muscle? I'm concerned because I am a heavy drinker, and I have had that dull pain in my right side.

I have a physical in 2 weeks and blood work, so I definitely have some anxiety.

Definitely speak with your DR, having pain is common for us with liver/health complications. But can’t be sure what your pain is linked to for sure. Hope you’ll be ok

Thank you

Hi and welcome to the forum,

No one on the forum will be able to diagnose you. Hopefully your GP can assess you and order appropriate medical tests.

We would also suggest to start thinking about your alcohol intake and beginning to cut down. If you are a heavy drinker you may need medical support to safely do this.

Keep us posted.

As the administrator has mentioned you’d have to go your doctorsPersonally I wouldn’t hesitate as I’ve buried my head for years and left things which resulted in me being diagnosed with liver disease and culminating in a liver transplant two years ago.

You have mentioned your a heavy drinker and you obviously know it’ll be doing damage because your posting on a liver forum, so my advice and many on here would agree is not to cut down but to stop immediately. I’m not trying to frighten you but if you carry on you’ll open up hell for yourself, and I’m not being melodramatic either and wouldn’t like to see any future posts from your talking about liver damage, hopefully it’s muscle damage for you, and one thing the liver does with abstinence is it repairs itself

Wish you you well anyway

If you are, or have ever been, alcohol dependent, discuss this with your doctor. In these circumstances it is important to get medical help to give up drinking, as stopping suddenly can, in some cases, lead to severe withdrawal symptoms, including hallucinations and seizures. There are many sources of support and help they can give you or direct you to.
