I have been diagnosed with cirrhosis two years ago, autoimmune hepatitis. Lately I have been having quite severe pain in my knees feet shoulders hands etc. I am pretty active with yoga and walking, but some days are worse than others and I feel very creaky and elderly ( I’m 64). I have been doing some physiotherapy for the shoulder pain, but there is little improvement.
Has anyone else had these symptoms? Would low magnesium or other trace elements be the culprit? I see my specialist in a month and I was going to ask for a nutritional blood test....?

Quite a few members of the online AIH facebook group say they have joint pain with the condition and especially when low in magnesium so yes make sure you get appropriate blood tests at your next check up.
Hi I was diagnosed last year but a few months ago I been getting bad aches in my arms like i lifted something to heavy. I had blood tests and seen drs but they are saying it's tendernitis its so painful some days and I have to watch how many pain killers I take.
Indeed, it’s a worry about which pain medication to take, or not...sigh

I have an unknown autoimmune disease that affects my liver and when I have a flare up both legs and arms hurts especially my shoulders too! I get pains under my right ribs and feel very tired with itchy skin!
I'm also fairly fit and until the lockdown attended the gym almost daily but still got the flare ups from out of the blue!'
I do hope you manage to track what's causing your symptoms!
Just throwing into the mix, I have lupus and have AIH now. ( although I believe the meds have caused my liver probs.) Anyway, I know that when you have 1 autoimmune illness, you are susceptible to other AI illnesses. Diabetes is one. Joint/ muscle pain is a common symptom of other AI illnesses. It's weird how these diseases overlap, at times. Whatever the cause, I hope you are soon feeling more comfortable
