Private fibroscan in East midlands

Hello my first post here.

I have been diagnosed with fatty liver by ultrasound and have symptoms that could be related but my GP doesn't want to look into it as my liver function test is almost normal. I was wondering if there are any private fibroscan services in Lincolnshire or nearby?

Depends how far east you want to travel. There is a fibroscan at the Norfolk and Norwich. Whether it's available for private aswell as NHS l dont know. The phone number is 01603 286286.

Thanks Laura,

I have just spoken to a private GP and they don't want to send me either I mentioned I was feeling anxious and then that was all they concentrated on. I did call the BLT help line and the person there was really good and she said she thinks that it will probably be traditional fatty liver but she said they would definitely want to confirm by fibroscan given my symptoms.

The main reason I feel anxious is I was a bit of a drinker in the Army although not at all for best part of a decade but in the that decade I have been working away most weeks staying in hotels and eating out all the time. also the symptoms I have which are hopefully ( and probably) from the anxiety but also match a good few listed for later Nash/Cirrhosis.

Good luck. Hope you get some reassurance soon .In the meantime eat and drink healthily.

And try to avoid worrying, it really won't help .... stay positive! Take care.
