Can you not state that you are very concerned about this thing which needs physically examining? GP's are triaging folks by phone and seeing them if deemed necessary - both my mum and dad have had physical face to face appointments in recent weeks having first had phone consultations - Dad with a suddenly appeared hernia (now referred to surgical team) and Mum for a leg pain / joint grating which is being investigated further and blood tests arranged for this week.

Your practice may be different but GP's are meant to still be seeing patients where necessary. Hubby and I have been in our surgery for flu jabs a couple of months back.

I do hope you have some luck in seeing your GP face to face it’s awful when your worried. I don’t find phone calls very useful, it’s not the same. You can’t read the facial expression or the body language of the GP and that goes a long way to give reassurance or concern as the case maybe.

I couldn’t even get a telephone consult with the GP, last time, it was the triage nurse that spoke to me. She ordered an ECG, still waiting for the GP call back on the result. I have to assume it was okay though as it’s been 7 weeks and waiting I’ve no doubt he’s looked at it, just can’t be bothered reassuring the patient that it’s okay it’s disgusting.

Even my flu jab was done in the car park under a tent type structure. No way are we getting in my surgery any time soon to see a GP. Rant over I do feel better for that. Take care.

I went to hospital last night waited 4 hours they took me to a room next to waiting room told me to lie down she had a feel of my abdomen said nothing there go home I said what about the swelling she said what swelling I stood up showed it to her she poked it that's nothing if your ain't happy ask your doctor to arrange an ultrasound was shocking way I was treated I don't know if it's because I have been to a&e a few times last few months with a few problems that's why I wasn't even took into the a&e department

I went to doctor today he said can't feel anything and is not overly concerned about it but will send me for a ultrasound for my own sanity but I'm just scared incase he just saying that because he knows how I'm feeling about it or is that just my mind playing tricks with me thinking the worse

Its good you got to speak to the doctor, it sounds like he was satisfied he couldn’t feel anything so that is positive news so you can relax now. Now for someone who is worried the completely right thing to do is to provide reassurance and in this case the doctor has suggested the ultrasound so try not to let your mind wander. Take care
