Welcome!
I am 10 months post transplant which I had at Kingās. I thought the ITU was very strange, but probably stranger for you! Did you go on to Todd Ward or Howard after?
So pleased you have a puppy, you must post us a picture, if you are comfortable doing soš
Stay wellš
Lesley
Hi Lesley
Iām 3.5 months in and itās been hard work but worth every minute.
Why did you find ITU strange - I found it ok but wasnāt sure what to expect tbh.
After itu for three days I was on Todd for 2.5 weeks in three different rooms. Staff were great but I had a few rough days and ended up having a stent put in.
Iāll post a pic of Chester when I know how but have put him on my profile page I think lol
Mel
Chester looks like a real characterš¾ great way to get you out and aboutšNever really a dull moment with a dog aroundš¾š¶
I think I found ITU odd as I didnāt know what to expect! Nothing quite prepared me for it! Plus I was convinced I hadnāt had a transplant (I had been called 4 times previously and sent home)!
I expect the drugs played a big part in it and due to complications I was there for almost a week!
I was in Todd over Christmas and that too was a bit strange, but got sent to my home hospital on Boxing Day.
They did mention the possibility of a stent, but everything righted itselfš
Looks like a fab day for a dog walkš
Lesley
Yes a lovely day for a walk - better get the towels ready as he loves the water snd mud. I took him to Wimbledon common on Tuesday and it was cold but who ended up in the pond???
There were lots of dogs running around but mine had to be the one to go in / must have been freezing !!!
Yes my local hospital is St. Georgeās and I go back under their care in 2.5months. What is your local hospital
Enjoy the weather as rain due this afternoon- well down this way it is
Mel
My local hospital is Derriford in Plymouth, so the trips to Kingās and back were very long! But at the end of the day someone had donated their organs and if it wasnāt my time, perhaps it was someone elsesš
Derriford are great and we also have a local liver buddies group, well local as in Somerset, Devon and Cornwall š¤£š¤£ we have been a great support through this with zoom chats and Facebook š
Enjoy the rest of the dayš
How are you and Chester and family this week? My local liver group have joined the World Transplant Games billion steps challenge, which is inspiring us to get out and walk! Needless to say it can be very soggy in Devonš§š
Lesley š
Hi Leslie
Iām staring out of the window watching the rain pour down - quite settling and relaxing in its own way. The sky is getting brighter to the south so give it a half hour Iāll be changing into the appropriate clothes for a little trek with. Chester. Wonāt be as scenic as Devon though š. Nice to hear from you
