Hi there I'm currently 1.5 stone over my ideal weight had cirrohsis for 3 years I see a dietician on Tuesday for the first time ☹️ I think my liver is now toxic as no matter what I do I can't loose weight do you think with proper diet I can lose this weight?

TIA Hayley x

I wouldn't worry until you have seen the dietician to see what he/she says. If it is ever likely that you will be requiring a transplant then they often hope that you have a reserve and don't mind if you are slightly over weight as this excess will drop off in hospital and post t/p.

Also, having cirrhosis there is a high possibility the weight will fall off you if your condition progresses.

Wait and see what the dietician tells you.

Hi Katie, thank you so much for your reply I think that is why every time I have asked for a dietician they have ignored me, I am going private on Tuesday off my own back I really do need to put the weight to one side but I'll see what they say.

Take care ❤️
