Update after diagnosis - 10 years of symptoms

Hello

I've been reading the forum for the last few years.

After 10 years of pain and some binge drinking, I have just steatosis.

41 year old living in Berlin.

I have had RUQ pain and LUQ pain that I thought was the liver and the spleen.

I've had two ultrasounds, blood tests and I've seen a gastroenterologist.

Steatosis and pain caused by gastritis and obesity constricting my diaphragm and irritating nerves that give referred pain.

I've started an intermittent fasting diet and I've been drinking much less for a long time already, once a week only.

Whilst I could have had this checked ages ago, I put it off because I was scared.

Don't be like me. It took me 10 days to see a specialist.

I feel I've dodged a bullet.

All my bloods are normal. My liver has some fatty infiltration but it's moderate and my spleen is normal!

I have similar pain to you. I’ve had itching for 2 yrs but I’m hoping it’s dry skin and thyroid that’s causing it all. I do also get shortness of breath and fast heart rate which I’m also hoping is thyroid but terrified it’s worse. Started have upper right quadrant pain that started in May and has continued to get worse and goes to my hip and neck. So far my ultrasound was mild fatty infiltration and my cat showed enlarged liver though I will admit I can clearly see what they are calling a Riedel’s lobe (rare extra flap of the liver that goes down the right side) so I’m hoping with the fat in my liver and having that extra price there is just causing unusual pain but it’s freaky. I did get a Fibrotest which showed no inflammation or scarring but idk if I trust it so I’m going for a fibroscan Thursday. I’m really hoping it turns out to be the fatty liver only as I’ve been working hard on my diet and around the time of diagnosis I was working out and doing a lot of twisting and lifting so I’m hoping that’s what’s adding to my pain but freaky that it’s only of the right side.
