How long to un-inflame liver?

Hello,

Had a fibroscan yesterday, 12kpa, consultant however didn't feel this was significant fibrosis but more inflammation from NASH (ALT 362) making the fibrosis score appear high.

From today I'm going alcohol free and looking to eat a healthier diet. Does anyone have any idea when I could expect to get some symptom relief? My main symptom is right upper quadrant pain. And when this would start to have an impact on bloods etc?

Hi. So pleased you are going to go down the healthy route regarding your liver. Depending on the severity, your symptoms can start to subside within 6 weeks and over the coming months you will see significant improvements.

Best of luck and keep it up ... well done .

I have been a silent on-looker (sic)? (Maybe? I'm not a grammar student, lol) but for quite some time now your replies have helped myself and so many others on this forum. This may be an inappropriate place to acknowledge this, but Thank You.

Hi Youngandworried,

I agree with Laura, eating healthy should help towards relieving your pains plus reducing your alcohol intake is a good move too!

All the best

I have just posted a question that is something of response. I was diagnosed in March, although still waiting on a scan my elf score shows first stage fibrosis. I changed my diet in line with guidelines on here and am steadily loosing weight, I noticed the full dull ache subsiding after about 3-4 months but still suffer other symptoms.
