I would like to ask a question in regards to anyone who has had experience with having both the fibrotest and fibroscan. Have these tests correlated or have you had discrepancies with your results? Just curious because I have had three fibrotests over the past 18 months and all have rendered similar results. I have pushed for a fibroscan, however resources are limited and my GP does not feel it is warranted to be flown out to another city to get this testing done.
All bloods that pertain to liver are normal ( i.e. pt, INR, platelets, LFT’s, MCV, bilirubin) except haptogloboin, it is low. No indications of hemolytic anemia.
Thank you for your insights if available,

Thank you for the reply Roy. My sincere condolences on your diagnosis. I wish you peace through your journey and pray that your liver heals to it’s optimal function.
Yes, it did not show cirrhosis. The results have hovered around stage 1, 1-2. Albeit reassuring, however I was diagnosed with mild alcoholic hepatitis in April 2019 stayed sober for a year, then it happened again after drinking for 3 weeks straight last April. Yes, utter stupidity! I know! I have managed to not drink from that last episode almost five months ago. Saying it concerns me is an understatement, because 60% of people diagnosed with AH have underlying cirrhosis. My labs normalized within a week, but still having bouts of extreme fatigue. With my long standing history of alcoholism and subsequent AH diagnoses, I can’t help but think the fibrotest with its lack of sensitivity in that scoring range is coming up with discrepant results.
Hi ive had 2 fibro scans and both showed cirrhosis I wouldn't worry about not having 1 if your blood test were showing your liver was struggling in anyway your doctor would of sent you for a fibro scan so I wouldn't worry at all you're liver is fine so I carry on as normal and don't worry yours kindly garry
