If you have to have an MRI to discern what certain liver lesions are then you probably have to have it with contrast which is what your 'primovist' is. My hubby who has cirrhosis/end stage liver disease had to have an MRI with contrast last year to work out what what some lesions were in his liver. I don't know what contrast dye he had but he certainly suffered no ill effects from it and thankfully got the all clear as regards what the various tumours were.

I had to have a full body MRI last year because I was suspected of having cancer. At any rate, it was fine, except it took four times for them to find a vein for the contrast.
