AST/ALT de ritis

Hi all, I've recently had some blood tests and my AST came back at 17 and my ALT was 13, when calculated it came back at 1.3 which is indicative of cirrhosis. I do have many symptoms (cramps, sensitivity around the liver area, pale oily stools, bile taste, Upper right quadrant pain, mainly a pain in my back, sweating, night sweats which are not hormonal as all hormones are normal and these swears are triggered by most medications or alcohol). My GGT was 12 but i would have expected it to be in range as I no longer drink alcohol as it flares up my symptoms massively. My platelets are normal and all other blood work looks normal. I've had these symptoms for 3 years but all tests have come back normal except the ELF which was 7.8, fibroscans have been normal as have ultrasounds. Since I no longer drink I think the tests are coming back normal because my liver no longer has active inflammation. Can anyone shed some light on the de ritis and what it means? I did the fib4 calculator and the results came back as normal (I don't know much about the fib4 either I only found it online a few days ago and since it asks ALT and AST I thought the de ritis would be factored into this.) What do people think about the fib4 calculator and has anyone found it accurate? I know this isn't a medical forum but I know a lot of people of here are highly informed about liver disease so I just would like to know what people's thoughts are on the fib4 and the de ritis. I honestly do believe I have liver disease, I was a heavy drinker for years and my symptoms started after an accidental paracetamol overdose. Thanks for any replies. Stay safe! X

It is my understanding that de-ritis ratio only comes into play when bloods are out of range, when they are definitely ok and in range as you are then no I wouldn't have thought this indicates anything untoward, when all your other tests are also normal.

You get an explanation of de-ritis ratio at:- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AST/A...

Thanks Katie, I was hoping you'd reply as you are so knowledgeable. I find that the medical jargon on most sites hurts my brain lol. Do you know anything about the Fib4? X

I have no experience of Fib 4 but looking it up you can do the calculation on line HOWEVER your blood tests will need to be in the specified units to do it correctly. It is best that your doctors carry out the calculations needed.
