My husband has decompensated liver, he was first admitted into hospital December 2018 and we are really lucky to still have him with us! I feel that we keep lurching from 1 crisis to another and that there is little continuity of care! I’ve learnt a lot!

Hello MumofChloe, sorry to hear of your situation. Continuity of care is so important when you have something like liver disease, I know we went through a spell of seeing different doctors each trip to hospital for a time and each said something different. If hubby is poorly with decompensated liver have you asked for referral to one of the main transplant/liver units where hopefully someone will take overall care of his condition.

There are NICE guidelines as to the minimum standard of care someone with cirrhosis should get and you'll find details on the British Liver Trust website in their patient charter document. britishlivertrust.org.uk/li...

If you need support with any specific difficulties arising with hubby then ask away and we'll see if we can help.
