Our local farmer has just delivered a plethora of fresh supplies for myself and Sian, my wife, without wanting payment π. Times like like this really show the goodness in individuals but sadly the worst too.

Wow Geordie - what with unasked for food parcels and then fresh Supplies from your farmer you must live in a lovely neighbourhood! Itβs great to hear π

Hello, our local parish council delivered the food parcel π. We live in a small hamlet called Gilson situated in North Warwickshire. Sadly though we are having to relocate as Gilson will be no moreas all. properties have been subject to compulsary purchase due to HS2.
Great news about your food parcel and that your parish council are on the ball Geordie but sad that you are going to have to relocate and that a little community will be no more.
Hopefully something will change and then it won't happen to you.
Alf.
Hi Geordie,
I used to live in a Hamlet in Oxfordshire, and our Farmers and villagers were like that too. I only left after I had 2 burglaries by gipsies, as my house was on it's own.
That is so sad to hear that a community is being ended for HS2. in Great Missenden, where I live, the tunnel exit is being constructed, and there have been so many properties are being compulsorily purchased, and also SSSI's, AONB's, Ancient Woodlands, and Archaeological sites are being demolished for the sake of a 20 minute time saving for commuters...... What a waste, in my opinion.
David
Yes it's really sad. The very small community here have been incredibly kind and supportive to Sian, my wife, and I since my transplant. We will certainly all miss each other.
Hi Geordie
It just proves that we are a nation of caring people ! Last night I was outside with my distant neighbours clapping and tapping saucepans at 8pm like many others!;
My daughter lives 23 miles from you in Shackerstone ...amazing area to move too! 4 mile from Market Bosworth . Steam Railway and canal to walk along which is beautiful. Village all mix and support each other !
Take care xxxx
Did you hear your daughter banging her saucepans then? π
It's amazing how a supa sonic dive improves your hearing π π π π

Are you a bit of a deaf π¦π¦?

Amazing community country pub too! I'm treated like one of the villagers and would have no hesitation moving /recommending this area . The near by villages are just as lovely should this be an area you would consider! Good Luck hunting! x
Geordie may not be allowed to drink?? Pubs may be of no interest in that case I suspect, Trish..... π
Ah! but the pub has this amazing freshly made pizza oven hut outside where most of the villagers congregate on a Friday/Saturday night with live music and we the villagers dance outside the pub! Its totally amazing . The owner Anna us only about 45 and like me !!!!nutty but loved. Mind you the houses are snapped up within a day /week of going up for sale!' The pubs atmosphere and restaurant food fab! Remember I go there and I dont drink!

I, obviously, haven't drunk alcohol for 9 months now. To be honest I've not missed it. This topic came up in conversation with my liver consultant who was of the view ir would be better all round if I abstained for good. My initial thoughts were that I'd celebrate my 1st year transplant with a glass of wine but I'm not so sure now. I'd rather be safe than sorry. Alcohol has never played a large part of my life so am confident that will continue. I do often wonder how recovering transplanted alcohol dependant individuals cope? It's interesting that as soon as I mention my liver transplant others assume immediately it was alcohol related.
Yes, Shackerstone is lovely. We've eaten several times at the Help Out Mill which we've always enjoyed. We were due to move to the Essex/Herts Borders and complete next week but that is not going to happen now. Shackerstone would be lovely option but we decided to move nearer London as it will be a much easier commute for work.. I do hope that your well and not going stir crazy during the current lockdown, or lack of it in some cases!
Hi
Sorry for late reply! I cannot blame you relocating closer to work as used to travel 168 miles on Monday and home Friday for many years! The 3am alarm was delightful.
Re: Lockdown, last week was tough but I've bounced backπ
Enjoy the remainder of your Easter
