Hello, I have recently been diagnosed with biliary dyskinesia and am due to have my gallbladder removed after 4 years of pain, nausea and generally feeling unwell and dizzy. Is there anyone with any experience of this and if so did gallbladder removal help

Good afternoon jackgary70,

I am sorry there is no specific information on the British Liver Trust or NHS site regarding biliary dyskinesia.

I have included a link to gallstones information which touches on the surgery.

I hope this is some help,

Best wishes,

Upper right quadrant. Just below the ribs. It is also intermittent.

Yeah, me too. And back right shoulderblade.

My ultrasound scans are all clear which makes me think this.

If i do have this it will take a while to be dealt with, especially if you have been suffering for 4 years.

I had the right shoulder blade pain too. The nausea was probably the worst thing to deal with. I have an appointment with surgeon next month about removing my gallbladder but he says it's not definitely going to cure problem.

Hi there, I hope you are improving now. My father has suffered severe nausea and stomach discomfort/back pain for 7 months now, all scans are came back clear, I think it is his gallbladder, will this improve do you think? His quality of life has deteriorated rapidly with excessive weight loss. Any advice appy x

Hi. I was told that my biliary dyskinesia was unlikely to get better however the surgeon is reluctant to remove the gallbladder as relief from symptoms is not guaranteed. I have been supplementing with ox bile and digestive enzymes. My symptoms seem to come and go. I hope your father gets better soon.
