I am new to this forum and would appreciate some help. Since feb I have had transient Lft rise and 70/96/58/200 and laterally 148. Along with this my ast is raised and 98 again transient. No other presenting complaints. I did have a hair analysis carried out privately and suggested that it was my adrenals that we causing concern,? Could this be the cause, awaiting a biopsy at present and the docs said ? Auto immune hepititis. I was reassured that my count went from 200 to 148 In a week and therefore hoping it was noting to serious.
Many thanks for any help x

I'm sorry to hear you are not feeling good. I was diagnosed with nafld in June 2016 and Nash( biopsy in November 2016 caused by meds from my Drs) are you in any pain. I'm in pain 24/7 cos if other conditions as well. My lfts went up and then back down but my Dr wrote to my consultant and he wanted bloods done of everything and an ultrasound, he was thinking of autoimmune hepetitis as well as Nash. My liver pain is cos my liver is so enlarged that it has stretched the capsule around which causes the pain as the liver doesn't have any nerves but the capsule does. Sorry to rabbit on. Take care Lynne
Unfortunately none of us on here are doctors - unless they are incognito - but on the other hand there are some very knowledgeable people here 👍. I am not one of them and only can speak from experience!
I was never told ANY of my actual blood results in the four years I had cirrhosis. Only terms like low, high and normal were used, if at all.
I think you should just take advice from your Consultants.
Why did you go privately for hair analysis because I have never heard of that one and I never had that even talked about let alone carried out?
Having said all that I can understand your worry and do hope you get some answers from your Consultant ASAP. I presume you are seeing a Hepatologist or “equivalent” Consultant.
We are not familiar with 'hair analysis' as a recognised medical diagnostic test, and we would therefore suggest to discuss all liver concerns with your own doctors and liver specialist who will be best placed to order the investigations you need. If you are diagnosed with a specific liver condition, please do get in touch and we can send you some additional supportive publications
