Thanks to everyone that has replied to my posts and sent well wishes. Spoke to the liver trust helpline nurses who were very nice and helpful. A week after discharge nothing has changed had the doctor out Monday to give me advice about his medication as some was stopped as being so poorly. I was told there is no help available only the carers his receiving. He has no appetite only having supplement drinks and I know he has end stage liver cirrhosis and not going to improve. He did say I can phone them for any advice or help and he knows it’s very hard on me trying to deal with it all. Got social services coming Thursday to assess him so that’s good. So for now it’s just taking everyday at a time.

Hi Jo,
I am glad we were helpful when you called the helpline.
It must be a very stressful situation for you and your Dad. Is he under the care of a dietitian to ensure he is getting all he needs nutritionally?
Has anyone talked to you about palliative and supportive care and all the care options there? We have a really good new publication that you may want to look at;
Content on HealthUnlocked does not replace the relationship between you and doctors or other healthcare professionals nor the advice you receive from them.
Never delay seeking advice or dialling emergency services because of something that you have read on HealthUnlocked.
