Hi. I notice the Liver Trust Roadshow intends to visit Scotland in September...can anyone advise me on the procedure at these events. Do you just turn up on the day or do you need to book an appointment? Any info gratefully received. All the best.

I believe you just turn up on the day. BLT website says -

Our Love Your Liver Roadshow

Each year, we deliver a public awareness roadshow, touring Scotland in our mobile unit.

We take our Mobile Scanning Unit to locations across Scotland, offering members of the public a liver health screener, a free liver scan, a consultation with a liver expert, and free health publications.

Love Your Liver events screen and scan around 100 people a day, and typically 17%-20% of people have indications of liver damage, and were unaware. The campaign reaches thousands through the media, and also raises the profile of our patient support services. All Love Your Liver events are supported by liver consultants and nurses from local hospitals.

Our next roadshow in Scotland will take place in September 2019, and will include visits to Inverness and Dumfries for the first time.

Dates will be shown on BLT website at :- britishlivertrust.org.uk/ou... (you click on the blue tear drop icon on the map and it brings up dates & details).

If you are worried that you MIGHT have a liver issue then don't wait until the BLT roadshow event, go to your doctors and get checked out.

In addition to the road shows, the BLT has regular support group meetings at venues around Scotland and having attended one of these with my hubby recently they are really worth attending if you know you have a liver condition. Dates and venues of these are also on the British Liver Trust website.

Hi,

Katie has already answered this brilliantly. It is a 'turn up on the day' event, we would suggest to come earlier as it can get very busy and we cannot guarentee scans.

If you have any further questions, please do phone the helpline on 0800 652 7330

Best wishes
