Rising lfts

Hi I’m 25 year old female 6 weeks post Partum. Lfts have been rising since I have birth. AST and alt have decreased to near normal again but Ggt has increased to 500 and alk phos over 800. Ultrasound and mri of liver are normal. Unsure what’s causing it, recent diagnosed with colitis so may be condition or medication. Anyone anything similar? And wondering about can I drink alcohol with this? Obviously being pregnant previously alcohol is not related to my increased levels and I wouldn’t be a big drinker

Ho Lou! I am new here and happy that found that foundation. I am from Holland, so sorry for my mistakes in english grammar). I had blood test 2 month ago(occaionally, dont have anything to complane. It it came with similar titers like yours. ( difference Alp-300). I have been checked for all virus hepatitis what is possible and it negatieve. US all good, fibroscan F 0, what is perfect. Last week doctor decided to check me for autoummune hepatite. Today came my test result :still unclear and probably i need biopsy.

ANA-neg

ASMA- slightly positive( not sure how to translate that from dutch correct)

AMA- not clear( doubting).

I had appointment today with assistent, who actually didn t explane me nothing about that.

Next appointment with doctor after 6 weeks, so i still dont know anything and worry myself sick.

P.S. Been told to not take any alcohol.

You should avoid alcohol while any of your blood test values are out of the normal range. Raised alkaline phosphate is usually a sign of a liver or bone problem. An alkaline phosphate level of over 800 and GGT of over 500 are not trivial. Something isn't right & if you drank alcohol even in moderation you would likely be making things worse by increasing the load on your already stressed liver.

Colitis which you've been recently diagnosed with is a serious disorder. If I was diagnosed with it I'd educate myself about it with a view to seeing if there might be lifestyle changes e.g. modifying my diet, that might help resolve it. Doing a quick search at the website of a doctor who I respect I found numerous references to colitis two of which are in the links below including a woman who claims that she beat the illness through changing her diet. There are also other people at the website who have posted similar stories claiming to have beaten the illness through changes in diet.

Whatever medication you've been prescribed to treat your colitis may be causing the abnormal blood test values. You should be being seen by a gastroenterologist who monitors your condition & the effect of different medications he prescribes.
