I mentioned a few weeks ago about the forthcoming party on the 15th June, to celebrate the 5000 liver transplant carried out at the QE. I of course shall be going, and am already looking forward to meeting up with all the staff who basically saved my life.
While I know that most men don't concern themselves with such things as, "What am I going to wear?" I came across this little beauty on Amazon, and couldn't resist it. So, I'll be wearing this with a white jacket.
That is brilliant, absolutely right for the day. That will be such a wonderful and I imagine emotional day for everyone involved and it is great that it is celebrated. The medical achievements, research and practice also the team that make it possible. Not forgetting the person, patient like yourself looking after your body and enjoying life now and also the person and family that made it all possible.
I will be there looking out for you and will wear something noticeable (when I think of something)
Hi Richard
I’ll be there. 👍
That’s not my style though, umm I don’t actually have a style but I’m too staid to be comfortable wearing that.. staid or boring 😁 hehe.
Go for it Millip!! I'm older than you and probably staider (if that word exists, lol) and reckon I'm going to get one for the service at Ely Cathedral. Alf
Nice one Alf, go for it. There are quite a lot of different Liver Transplant T-shirts on Amazon.
What I should point out here is that I do believe that there is a way on both PayPal and Amazon, where you can nominate a certain charity, So many pennies in the pound are then passed on to that charity. Not sure how it works, but it might be a way for the BLT to receive funds. Just a thought.
Hi Richard. I've just taken a look and I'm going for same one as you. There is a good range of choice but I think some of the witty ones could be upsetting for donors relatives.
That's nice of you, It will be nice to meet fellow transplantee's on the day. I'll be there just after 10:00am so it should make for an interesting full day.
Yes, I'll be there for around 10am. I'm feeling a bit weird about it to be honest. My whole family (my parents who were with me at the time), plus my partner, his daughter and my 8 yr old son (who is severely autistic) are coming with me. I thought it was a good idea when I received the invitation but now I'm nervous that it will be too stressful trying to keep them all involved and occupied while I attempt to 'celebrate'....
