Hi, I just saw your post and wanted to reply. I can’t advise on treatment options I’m afraid as I’m not a Doctor, but I can tell you my experience of weight loss if it helps? I’m not a dietician and I don’t follow a diet, I just try to eat healthily.
I have lost just over 3 stone since September when I was told my liver was in trouble. It was the shock that spurred me into action. My consultant and Doctor told me they are amazed at how I went about it, sensibly, and as a result I have been very lucky and my liver is regenerating and with time will get better.
This is what I eat if it helps:
Grilled fish mostly, occasionally chicken or turkey
Vegetables and fruit, blueberries, bananas mostly
I drink lots of tap water - so not paying for it
So that means, nothing processed and no red meat. I don’t drink alcohol as I don’t like it. I don’t count calories as I veg is nothing really.
I exercise for 1 hour a day, 30 mins cardio and 30 mins strength exercises. I follow YoUTube videos and do it all myself, if I could afford help I would get it!
For me following a ‘diet’ doesn’t work as psychologically I feel I’m starving myself, so I have focused on eating as healthily as possible. I will be honest and say that it isn’t easy but if you stick at it it will help. My blood tests have shown vast improvement and I do check in with my Doctor to make sure what I eat is okay.
I’m sure others will be along to offer more advice, good luck and I hope this helps! Owlie
