Hi Agnes, it sounds like it's on. You must be feeling every emotion possible. Hope everything goes smoothly, what a wonderful Christmas present. 🎁 Deb x
Great news. My partner was in theatre for about 7 hours but worth every minute. Fabulous Xmas pressie. xxx
I’m counting x
Great news Yuiop, its amazing how often folks come on here either posting to enquire about lengths of transplant wait time as you did yesterday or complaining about their wait or feeling dejected due to it all then the call comes that same day. Maybe everyone waiting should pop on and have a good moan and bingo on the way to theatre.
Look after yourself today, I remember at transplant assessment at Edinburgh how they discussed the day of the procedure and I knew i'd be sitting close by that theatre "sh*tt*ng a brick!!" if my hubby had got the call.
I really hope it all works out good, fingers crossed he'll be sitting up, walking about and tucking into a good Christmas Dinner in no time.
Thoughts with you both today over in the RIofE.
Katie xx
Agnes,
It’s going ahead, fantastic news. He’ll be all over the place in ICU, don’t worry, a long operation. Christmas on ward, a priceless gift from Santa this year. My kindest wishes to you both.
Mark.
All the best. Start of a new beginning. X
New liver, new person, new life, re-birth 😘 hope you can get some rest Agnes. We are all thinking of you both. Jaycee
9 hrs and not heard anything yet!
Do the co-ordinators or anyone give you any updates as you wait??
Fingers crossed it is all going well.
Katie
I was told I would get an update from coordinator but not heard anything yet. I’ll give it until 5pm
It's a long time with no update, they told us at assessment they would look after the 'waiter' too. Best wishes.
Katie
I went to theatre at 8.30 am and wasn't back in ICU until 9.30 pm so it's not unusual. Thinking of you both. Alf
Alls well as can be expected. With him now x
Agnes
Really good to hear. Very much thinking of you most of the evening. I hope after rest etc, tomorrow brings further optimism. Cx
The very best of luck Agnes.
Best wishes for you and your husband.
John
Sending you all my best wishes Agnes, so great that he got the call and is now one of us post-transplantees. You'll be the one answering your question in the future, lol. Good luck for an uneventful recovery.
Just seen your post, so pleased for you & your hubby, it is very overwhelming from the minute they get the call to the minute you see them in ICU.
Wishing a speedy first 2 weeks of recovery, it's amazing how quickly things change.. more alert, no jaundice, no confusion once all the anesthetic wears off.
Just remember your rest is just as important as his recovery xxx
Hope you have one
of the rooms agnes? Keith got out after 8 days so fingers crossed x
Hi Yuiop, all the very best of luck. Fingers, toes and everything else crossed ! - Nick
Really helps to have that wee room. My daughter's and I found it very helpful for having a wee cup of tea and a private blether. It was comforting to be so near and be able to pop down for wee visits. I had to leave after 3 days because of all the snow (28 th February last year)Three nurses slept in the room !!!!!!!
Don’t know how long I can have this room. It’s not the rooms you pay for and there is a tv.
An early Christmas Present for you, it is one of those ecstatic moments that emotions will be all over the place, you can help your self by keeping a little calm, the wait will be horrendous, but a thought to keep you positive and this will help you trust me, in your own mind thank the person that gave you this wonderful gift, just as you are emotional the other family are likewise, if you can cope with this then you can cope with anything.
So delighted for you both. Brilliant news! Wishing him a speedy recovery and hope you’re both home enjoying your new life very soon xxx
Great News, The advice I got it gets a little better each day, and it did!
This is my first Christmas post op! I am sure your will be special as well
Enjoy Christmas. It’s family time xxx
Brilliant news, wishing your husband a speedy recovery and a healthy and happy New year
It is wonderful for both of you. All the money in the world can't buy this gift, but it must also inspire those waiting that they too have hope. Still a long journey ahead but d
in the right direction now. Christmas presents in future will be pretty insignificant, hard to think of anything more precious. Anew baby , but this happens thousands of times a day. Hope you remember to rest as you need to keep strong and well. Hazelx
So pleased for you both, the best Christmas present you could ask for. Must be a very emotional time for you, make sure you look after yourself.
So pleased for you both hope your hubby is well, my husband had his transplant in September this year, was in QE for 9 days and he is like a new man now looking forward to spending Christmas with him this year as last year he was in hospital really poorly .
You will have a good Xmas with the new gift your husband has just had sending all our love to you both
Pauline xxx
All the very best to you both - so pleased you didn't have to wait very long!
