A glimpse of hope , I heard the best after hearing so much bad ,alcoholic hepatitis
I had drug induced hepatitis and ended up really sick. It took me a good year to recover from it. Recovery is possible, always great to hear a story like this. Its important to note that after AH, the liver is much more susceptible to damage afterwards. Keep up the great work, sounds like you're doing everything you need to in order to stay healthy. Overcoming AH isnt an easy battle.
Ive posted alot on this very topic. Fibroscans can be very muched inluenced by the inflamattion of hepatitis. Giving false cirrhosis diagnosis. Some have commented back to me with studies however stating cirrhosis was still found on biopsies of people whose fibroacan results fell to normal range. Dont k ow how common this is. But to your post im glad someone othwr than me is posting about this very true and very frustrating mis diagnosing. My hepatologist has told me that a fibroacan cannot on its own be used to diagnose cirrhosis and further that hepatitis makes that even more difficult.
Good post!
I am so happy for you!! God bless you! 🙏🏼
What were your fibroscan results when you think you had alcoholic hepatitis? Did you have another one after? What results? Scans etc? I ask because I think the same think happened to me and waiting to do MRE. My KOA was 12.4 with Cap of 270.
