Ulcers after banding

Hi , My dad had a routine six bands then a week later was back in A & E due to blood in stools turned out that where he had been banded it had got ulcerated, never had this problem before. He has had a lot of banding over the last few years and whenever this particular consultant carries out the procedure always seems to be in pain afterwards.

He is fine when any other doctors do it, anyone come across this before?
