Liver tests

I have had 3 liver tests over the past 6 months and 2 out of 3 were on the high side with the 2nd one reading as Satisfactory. I'm also suffering from raised blood pressure reading 144/95 consistently. I'm currently taking Amitriptyline 10mg per night as I suffer anxiety and sometimes have sleep problems. I wondered if this drug might not help my liver, and if anyone could offer any advice or any imformation that might help me moving forward. Thanks.

I would have thought if you already have liver problems, your doc wouldn't have prescribed Amitriptyline if there were any side effects that would put your liver at risk of any damage. If in doubt, phone your doc and ask the question.

Hi, I have liver problems and last year sustained a rib injury which resulted in consistent pain for weeks. My consultant recommended amitriptyline for the pain, which I took for 3 nights only, because the pain went. So firstly, it doesn't seem to be an issue for the liver. Can't comment on length of usage though, since I only took it for a short time.
