Fibromyalgia won't have caused scarring to your liver .... drinking alcohol will have done that

They may need to investigate the possibility you have another auto-immune condition that may also have attacked your liver. When you have one auto-immune illness it is common to have multiple other AI conditions and there is a possibility you could have one of the auto-immune liver conditions. Ok, it might be down to the alcohol but it is possible to get liver disease without alcohol - my hubby has cirrhosis due to Auto-Immune Hepatitis and has been t-total all his life.

A liver biopsy might also be needed to ascertain a clearer picture.

I have had fibromyalgia for about 14 years and two weeks ago I was diagnosed with cirrhosis. I don't think that the two things are linked. I saw a consultant last evening who told me that I must not take naproxen or ibuprofen as they can cause damage and bleeding to the gut. Deb
