With GGT up over 1000 there is a real danger of acute alcoholic hepatitis, which should be closely monitored during your first month of recovery. If your rehab center doesn't have a doctor on site to look into your medical situation, I'd want to arrange to be seen by a doc and have new labs drawn at least weekly during your first month of recovery.
I'm not a doctor, but from what I've read, it's not how high labs are early on, but how swiftly they resolve that may be a good indicator of whether or not advanced disease is occurring.
I dearly hope you get accepted into rehab soon. If it isn't going to happen in the next week or so, I'd seriously consider hospitalization to be sure you're not slipping into critical illness.
Hi Jason, my GGT was higher than yours (1384) when first diagnosed in Oct 2016. I stopped drinking immediately, which I found very easy ( my drinking was habit not addiction fortunately). I was monitored, but had no withdrawal symptoms or complications. my LFT results returned to near normal after a few months of abstinence. I sincerely hope you kick the drink and get your results back to normal. Have you had an Ultrasound or Fibroscan to assess the damage to your Liver? My liver is sadly stage F4, which surprised me as I had very few symptoms before diagnosis.
