Brilliant news, look after yourself for the next few hours, he's in good hands.

Fingers crossed all goes smoothly.

This is great news Donna, your hubby is in good hands at the QE. He's going to feel rough when he comes round, after all this is major surgery. He's also going to find this a very emotional experience when he comes round, and this is quite normal so expect a few tears. When I had my transplant, I felt so unworthy and full of guilt. It's not just the body that needs to heal but also the mental health aspect. He will also be in total awe of his donor.

This gift is after all a second chance of life. So, once all the healing has happened, go out there and embrace and enjoy life once more. This is after all what his donor would have wanted.

Good Luck to your both.

Richard

Glad that your time has come and hope he has faultless surgery with a comfortable and rapid recovery.

Please don't forget to take good care of yourself, he is doing the easy bit leaving you with the bitten down fingernails.
