Liver Cirrhosis Post Update

Hi everyone, I had written a post two days ago about my mother. She has end stage liver cirrhosis and had to be urgently taken to the hospital because of a severe case of hepatic encepalopathy. This is an update to that post. Yesterday, my sister called to tell that mom has gotten more conscious. She had instructed mom to repeat after her the letters A, B, C, D and mom did as told. However, when I asked her about mom's condition today, she said that it's the same as yesterday. There's no progress from yesterday's condition. She is still in a critical stage. I don't want to get my hopes up. I want to say thanks to all of you for your support.

I've been researching the internet for information about liver cirrhosis and I came across this article about a possible cure for NAFLD.

I just wanted to share this article with you all. The article is dated Jun 14, 2017. At that time, the cure was yet to be tested on humans. I don't know if it works or if there are any harmful or deadly side-effects. It would be great if we finally get a cure for this disease.

Hi Dagmara. This sounds a bit more positive. Your mum can obviously hear your sister and she sounds like a real fighter. If she does come round recovery is a slow process and some days will feel like she’s doing better than others. As she is still critical you are right not to get your hopes up too much, just take everything one day at a time. How are you in yourself? Look after yourself and stay strong. Be thinking of you x

Of course you feel anxious this is your Mum. I wish I could tell you what was going to happen but nobody on here is medically trained. We just can give advice drawing from our own experiences. I’ve always been the one in our family that’s been ill and my mum along with my husband have been my carers. I can only imagine the emotions that you must be going through. Try and see if you can speak to your mums consultants today to see if they can give you any answers. Everybody’s situation is different and they are the people who know your mums medical situation the best. But whenever you feel down or need to talk this is a very caring forum and there is always someone here to listen. Take care
