Post Transplant

Hi, I didn't really intend getting involved in this forum as I was only looking for Travel Insurance, but there seems to be a lot of people out there asking questions. Now post transplant for 11 months I may be able offer some feedback based on my own experience. For me I felt better the moment I woke up after the transplant and apart from some initial rejection and getting a hospital virus all is well. Wouldn't say I am quite 100% as yet, as still building strength and stamina but improving every day.

Quick thank you to Professor Steven Wigmore and his team, the nurses at Ward 205 at Edinburgh Royal. Thank you for the gift of life.

Dear Graham27,

Good to hear you are doing well and continuing to improved. I think there are many on this site who would enjoy or benefit from your journey. My husband is the liver patient and not a transplant and we are in the US, but I see many people on here asking questions about the befores, afters, durings, and assesments of transplants and I think everyone's journey has different items - good and bad - that might benefit someone.

Best wishes on your continued good health.

Mary

Thanks Mary, appreciate your comments . Flying to Kentucky on Monday. Lived in North America for 15 years.

Yes everybody’s experience is different. Mine was more challenging than some but a lot easier than others. I think myself very lucky and if I can offer any advice, comments or observations I am happy to do so. It is a very difficult time for family and friends and the support in my case was to be quite frank overwhelming.

Wish your husband all the best and keep positive.

Graham
