Poor liver function may increase your chances of cardiovascular diseases such as atherosclerosis, high blood pressure, heart attacks and strokes. If the liver does not regulate fat metabolism efficiently, weight gain tends to occur around the abdominal area and a protuberant abdomen (pot belly) will develop. – Sandra Cabot, MD.

That’s one to throw back to my GP about my huge weight gain. He always says it’s nothing.

You have to fight your corner these days Brett .. i know i make sure i do .Good info. Will mention that to my hepatologist.

Yes, it seems this is what most of us have to do but it can be very draining. I'm lucky to have a good support network with friends, family and all of you on here. Thank you everyone, you are all fantastic people, so caring. Take care Lynne

I think warnings like that should be on every bottle of booze !
