Hi. I just started the hep c medication viekirax and exviera a week ago. It is making me feel exhausted and itchy. The itching is getting better.
Any chance the fatigue will get better? Is there anything I can do to help it?
Thanks

Hi Sophie,
Welcome to the forum.
We would suggest that you discuss any symptoms that you are worried about with your liver specialist or specialist liver nurse. They have access to your medical notes and are best placed to safely advise you,
Best wishes

Hi Sophie, I was on the same treatment about a year and a half ago for 6 months plus riba, it is tiring, are you sleeping OK? I found sleeping impossible so got some sleeping tablets off the doctor & I found taking just half a pill every other night helped me sleep which made the days easier to cope with. Good luck with the treatment
The exhaustion for me hasn’t left in years so rest when you need to & eat a healthy diet, try a Antihistamine like Hydroxyzine for the itching it may also help you sleep. I had/have Hepatitis C and Cirrhosis plus xtra diagnosis’s, but that and creams help to stop the itching. Good luck

Hi Sophie, I'm on same treatment right now plus five Ribavirin, the first few weeks were like that for me too, feeling much better now then I did though 😃 make sure you drink enough water and eat as well as you can. I'm not itching so much now I'm on week 6 of 12 . I got some perfume free moisturiser and shower gel like simple brand and that seemed to help. I think body needs a good four weeks to adjust to meds and then it gets much better. I'm still tired, bit all in all its now manageable. Maybe pop by the other hep c positive forum also, lots of great people on there on treatment right now and it's very supportive and they are all full of wisdom 😉. Good luck to you and all the best. 🍀🍀🍀🙏👍💪
