I stopped drinking all alcohol last may. Was 2 glasses of wine a week. My liver enzymes have be elevated for the last 10 years. I am lean, athletic, eat well, perhaps too much protein( from Chicken fish and Protein Powders. My energy is great, no fatiques, stools are normal. Yet blood work yesterday indicated an increase in the ALT Enzyme. My numbers: fall 2017AST/SGOT 64 IU/L Reference range 14-46.

I've been on prescribed opiod for 8 years, complicated , extensive arthritis. Opiod intake is no more than 15mg a day.
MY GP wants an Ultrasound done. I am also stressed out, health care and the wait time, and length to get good care is a nightmare at times.
I've read opiods can cause elevated AST and ALT levels, as well as eating highj protein diet, and i workout hard, ( for me) ha! muscle waisting can also elevate these enzymes.
