Possible liver problem
What have your blood tests shown?
An abdominal ultrasound is an inexpensive and painless imaging test that is justified and warranted given your symptoms. Your doc should not refuse this given your unexplained abdominal pain. Orange urine & light stools can indicate poor bile flow or obstruction from stones. If you've been on antibiotics recently, many of these have "cholestatic" properties which can thicken bile and gum up the biliary system.
Pain, gas & symptoms of poor bile flow may be a gallbladder issue. An ultrasound should rule out stones or obstructions. Ultrasound isn't too good at detecting mild to moderate alcoholic fibrosis, but it should show cirrhosis if this is present.
Best of Luck, & hope this passes soon.
As stated above many things can cause this. Gallbladder could be enemy number one and you not know it without a HYDA Scan. You do have an extensive drinking history aswell. Labs are important as they tell a story. Normally, alcohol damage will give you a higher AST over an ALT. Other liver or gallbladder issues normally result in a higher ALT over AST. The best thing to do is be completely upfront with your doctor. Ultrasound would be a good place to start. In my own opinion I'd get a private fibroscan or see if the doctor can do it. As a cirrhosis diagnosis is 95-96% accurate with a fibroscan and only about 65-68% with Ultrasound. Make sure you're eating healthy and staying hydrated.
Keep us posted hopefully they will figure things out for you
I would ask for a liver fibroscan because blood tests aren't a true reading of how damaged your liver is. Go to a&e and tell them your in pain and you may get more than a blood test.
