1 Year Waiting

So today is 12 months since I was listed.... I have to admit I do feel like I have been forgotten about - I think I need to be more poorly before anything is going to happen.

However my liver does feel like it is trying to bust through my stomach/ribs today....

I hope you are all well and behaving! lol....

Hi Chelle

A year is such a long time to wait especially if you keep hearing from people who have had their transplants within a couple of months.

I think you have coped marvelously so keep up the good work and I hope you hear something soon.

I like hearing from people that have been transplanted, especially if they are doing well. It give me hope that things will go ok for me...My time will come, when; who knows...just have to keep smiling in the mean time!

I hope your husband is doing better. x

Hi chelle.

We never thought the call would come for another year -my husband was on list eleven months when phone rang. He had been keeping relatively well but they said his bilirubin that week had shot up to 75 and thisbhad accelerated him up the list. Plus the donor was exact size to my husband. This was five weeks ago and so really you never know when it will come. We certainly didn't expect it so hope it happens soon for you

Hi Chelle

My husband was on the transplant list, (suffering from NASH) for 14 months, he had his transplant a year last June and he has been given a new lease of life and has never felt better. I can appreciate how you must be feeling about the wait, hoping you hear some news soon.

Don't give up hope. I felt well and was told to expect a long wait. 13 days later I had the call. Transplanted next day, all straight forward. Home after 6 days. That was 12 days ago. We are off tomorrow for 1st clinic appointment. You have not been forgotten, and please do not give up hope. Xx

It’s not really a case of moving fast for me....it’s just waiting for the call. I was put on the list 12 months ago. But I’m blood group ‘o’ and I’m still quite well I’m managing to work still. I hope you get the results your after and he’s listed soon. What hospital will you be with?
